The Getaway

The latest craze in UK driving games is The Getaway.  Awesome graphics and great sounds add to a superb gameplay that makes The Getaway a must have game for all PS2 Owners.

OK we're bigging it, but it really is good, and if you enjoy games such as Grand Theft Auto and Vice City, then you're going to love The Getaway.  But before we get carried away, we should warn you that the driving experience experience isn't as good as that in the best pure driving games such as Project Gotham on the XBox or GT3 on the PS2 Platform.  And despite the backing of producers SCEE, the game fails to offer a music soundtrack of any note.

But for all round entertainment, The Getaway is hard to beat.  The really good story line is enhanced by being playable from either side of the plot.

Only launched in the UK in early December 2002, just in time for Christmas, the game proved an immediate success. and has continued to do well through January 2003. Also released across Europe in mid December, and is scheduled for a USA debut soon.

The game features 28 square miles of central London, including 20 real interior locations and stunts from 2-wheel alley races to handbrake turns and more.

More than 50 vehicles are available, including

Black Cabs

Mercedes SL500 Brabus

TVR Cerbera

1990 Toyota MR2

1973 Rover 2000

1957 Lotus Elite

and lots more.  So if you've ever dreamed of driving a modern sports car, or a classic from the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s or 90s around London at breakneck pace, then have a look at The Getaway
